Emerald Isle

Last week, Mom, Peter, Kateri and I drove down to visit Laura, Mikey and Charlotte in Emerald Isle. We only had to stop twice on the way down to see the Hilleary's, once to feed Kateri and once to feed us. That is not too bad. We had an absolutely lovely time. Day one was sunny and gorgeous so we went to the beach which is just feet from Lu and Mikey's place.

Charlotte LOVES the beach!

And, to Laura's delight, Charlotte DID eventually fall asleep and get a little nap in.

Despite the beautiful sun, it was chilly with that wind. When we got out to the beach itself, I was COLD. Mom was an angel and ran back to grab a jacket for me. This was especially sacrificial because while she was gone, an entire pod of dolphins came down the shoreline. They leapt out of the water over and over and seemed to be doing it just out of joy! It was an amazing thing to see because they were so so close to the shoreline, the closest just about 15 feet out.

We headed down the beach . . . Look at those beauties!! You can even see some unusual hair extensions in Lu's hair!

I wore Kateri in the mobi wrap mom made for me.

She was so cozy warm and fell asleep almost immediately!

Sisters and cousins :)

Peter borrowed some of my flip flops. Halfway down the beach we realized he didn't have them anymore! When we asked Pete where they were, he said, "They're buried in that hole back there." Peter ran back to dig them out, he dug and dug until the hole was over four feet deep! That is a deep hole on the beach! and NO FLIP FLOPS! Finally, we came to help, and there, right next the hole, partially buried in the sand, were the flip flops.

Pete in his natural habitat . . . Look at that smile!
