Second Camping Trip 2016

We set out on our second camping trip with a car-load full of incredibly happy, enthusiastic campers:

Thankfully, but the time we got to the campground, everyone was in a better mood!

One of the signatures of this campground was the rabbits! Every sort you can imagine, all colors hopping around at all times, and all very careful to stay at least 10 feet away from you. It was fun to look up and see a little rabbit hopping by.

We walked to the waterfall, which was really lovely as far as waterfalls are concerned. Pat has some pictures and I will put them up once he sends them :). The kids loved the play grounds, and we didn't have time to check out the pool (which was very popular with the other campers).

Chiara has a gold star for camping thus far. She only woke up once at night! You go girl!

We prepped food using pinterest ideas, and it worked quite well!

This is Hawaiian bread with ham and cheese . . . so easy and good! Inspired by this pin.

We also had fresh prepared fruit, chips, and instant chocolate pudding for dessert: yum!

The following morning, Kateri woke up early (my child who needs such a minimal amount of sleep), and we made it to 7:15 AM Mass, about 25 minutes away at the beautiful St Francis of Assisi church in Staunton. It was sadly raining, so we didn't end up eating breakfast at the site. I had prepared these for breakfast, and even though we didn't eat them while camping, they were delicious at home and I will definitely try them again!

As we took down the camper and hitched it to the car, every kid was wailing. One of our nice camping neighbors looked at Pat with empathy and said, "I've so been there!"

All in all, it was a wonderful trip, thanks be to God! We are looking forward to trying our next one!
